Pringle's 23 points leads North Carolina past Wake Forest
Feb 1, 2008 - 5:56 AM WINSTON-SALEM, North Carolina (Ticker) -- LaToya Pringle scored 23 points as No. 3 North Carolina cruised to a 76-55 Atlantic Coast Conference victory over Wake Forest on Thursday.Cetera DeGraffenreid scored 15 points, Rashanda McCants added 14 and reserve Jessica Breland 10 for the Tar Heels (19-2, 6-0 ACC), who posted a 97-86 double-overtime win over No. 4 Maryland last Saturday and next face No. 9 Duke on Monday.
Pringle, who connected on 8-of-13 shots from the floor, helped North Carolina shoot 54 percent (33-of-61) and win its fifth straight game in the series against Wake Forest.
Corrine Groves scored 16 points and Alex Tchangoue had 14 for the Demon Deacons (13-10, 0-8), who shot 39 percent (22-of-57) and have lost 25 straight league games.
