Vaughn, Rutgers roll over Cincinnati
Jan 23, 2008 - 5:42 AM CINCINNATI (Ticker) -- Kia Vaughn had 17 points, 21 rebounds and three steals as fifth-ranked Rutgers beat Cincinnati, 71-41, in a Big East Conference matchup on Tuesday night.Vaughn shot 8-of-12 from the field and pulled down 12 offensive boards en route to season highs in both points and rebounds.
Heather Zurich added a career-high 16 points to help the Scarlet Knights (16-2, 6-0 Big East) continued their best start in 17 years.
Essence Carson was the third Rutgers player to score in double figures with 14.
Kahla Roudebush scored 14 points for Cincinnati (10-8, 1-5 Big East), which was outrebounded, 48-34, and missed 21 of their first 22 shots.
The Bearcats finished a poor 23 percent (21-of-56) from the floor.
