Vermont names McBride new women's basketball coach
May 15, 2010 - 7:55 PM BURLINGTON, Vt.(AP) -- The University of Vermont has named Lori Gear McBride its new women's basketball coach.McBride has spent the past five seasons as head coach at Maine's Colby College.
She won an NCAA championship in 1994 as a player for North Carolina.
She replaces Sharon Dawley, who left to become the new women's coach at the University of Massachusetts after seven years in Burlington.
