Hartford signs women's coach Rizzotti to extension
Apr 5, 2007 - 8:45 PM WEST HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Jennifer Rizzotti has plenty of job security.Rizzotti, who has guided Hartford to three NCAA Tournmament appearances in eight seasons as coach, on Thursday signed a contract extension that will keep her at the school through the 2013-2014 campaign.
Hartford went 25-9 this past season, winning its second straight American East regular-season title. The Hawks also beat Bucknell in the first round of the WNIT.
"I appreciate the support and loyalty that the University of Hartford has shown me," said Rizzotti, a former star player at Connecticut. "The constant encouragement I receive not only building our program into a championship one but developing our players as students and as young women make this a great place to coach."
