Providence names Fruchtl women's hoops coach
Apr 10, 2012 - 12:11 AM Providence, RI (Sports Network) - Providence named Susan Robinson Fruchtl its new head women's basketball coach on Monday.Robinson Fruchtl, who spent the past five seasons at St. Francis University in Pennsylvania, will be formally introduced at a news conference on Wednesday.
She replaces Phil Seymore, who resigned last month after seven seasons as head coach of the Friars to pursue other options.
Robinson Fruchtl led St. Francis to three straight Northeast Conference title games, two conference titles and advanced to the NCAA Tournament in 2010 and 2011.
She spent eight prior seasons as an assistant at her alma mater, Penn State.
