Legette-Jack named Buffalo women's basketball coach

Jun 14, 2012 - 5:12 PM Buffalo, NY (Sports Network) - The University of Buffalo has named Felisha Legette-Jack as its women's basketball coach.

Legette-Jack spent the past six years as head coach at Indiana and was fired in March after a 6-24 season. She guided the Hoosiers to winning records and postseason appearances in each of her first three seasons with the program.

Prior to joining Indiana, Legette-Jack was the head coach at Hofstra for four seasons.

"I am excited to be coming back to New York, where I started my head coaching career," said Legette-Jack in a statement Thursday. "This is an outstanding opportunity to build a program and coach in a well-respected league such as the Mid-American Conference."

The 45-year-old Legette-Jack has ties to the upstate New York area. A Syracuse native, she is still the second-leading scorer in Syracuse University history and was an assistant at her alma mater from 1993-2000.
