Austin Peay gives Daniels extension
Mar 20, 2014 - 7:00 PM Clarksville, TN (SportsNetwork.com) - Austin Peay has extended the contract of women's basketball coach Carrie Daniels through the 2014-15 season.Daniels just completed her eighth season with the Lady Govs, who were just 9-20 in 2013-14. Her overall record is 88-157 with two Ohio Valley Tournament titles.
"As a head coach, (Daniels) has developed teams that have won championships, maintained exceptional performance in the classroom with a cumulative grade- point average of 3.44 and recruited student-athletes who are outstanding members of the community," said athletic director Derek van der Merwe. "We both agree we are not satisfied with the team's overall win-loss record. I support Carrie's vision and plan to improve these results."
The 1996 APSU alum guided the Lady Govs to the OVC Tournament title in 2009 and 2010.
