CSU gives women's hoops coach new contract

Aug 11, 2014 - 4:48 PM Fort Collins, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Colorado State and head women's basketball coach Ryun Williams agreed to a new five-year contract on Monday.

Williams' deal keeps him at the university through the 2019-20 season.

The 2013-14 Mountain West Coach of the Year, Williams coached the Rams to a 25-8 record, a MWC regular-season title and a WNIT berth last season.

"Throughout his career Ryun has proven his ability to turn a program around, and in just two years, he's done that here," said interim athletic director John Morris in a statement. "We are happy to announce that he will be a Ram for a very long time and we are very excited to see the women's basketball program reach new heights in the seasons to come."

Colorado State won only 11 games in Williams' first year at the helm in 2012-13.
