Doug Bruno becomes 19th DI women's coach to win 600 games
Jan 16, 2016 - 2:14 AM INDIANAPOLIS (AP) DePaul coach Doug Bruno became the 19th Division I women's basketball coach to reach 600 victories when the Blue Demons beat Butler 61-54 on Friday night.Bruno, who is 600-315 in his 30-year career at DePaul, is the seventh coach to reach that milestone at one school according to the NCAA. He joins Pat Summitt (Tennessee), Geno Auriemma (UConn), Andy Landers (Georgia), Robin Selvig (Montana), Debbie Ryan (Virginia) and Harry Perretta (Villanova).
Brooke Schulte and Chanise Jenkins led DePaul with 14 points. Jenkins paced the Blue Demons with eight rebounds and added three assists and a steal. The Blue Demons (13-6, 5-1 Big East) have won all nine meetings with the Bulldogs (7-9, 2-4).
