Illinois center Chatrice White transfers to Florida State

May 14, 2016 - 7:04 PM TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) Chatrice White, who led Illinois in scoring and rebounding last season, has completed her transfer to Florida State.

The 6-foot-3 sophomore center from Shelby, Nebraska, will sit out next season and have two years of eligibility remaining starting in 2017-18.

White averaged 18.7 points and 9.3 rebounds last season as she was named to the Big Ten's all-conference second team. She also had 18 double-double games last season. White, who has 1,010 collegiate points, was the second-fastest player in Illinois history reach 1,000 points.

Florida State coach Sue Semrau said on Saturday that White has an excellent skill set with the ability to stretch defenses. White chose Florida State over Atlantic Coast Conference rivals Notre Dame and Louisville.

White was a 2014 McDonald's High School All-American and was named to the Big Ten's all-freshman team in 2014-15
