Monmouth to name Gaitley women's hoop coach

May 12, 2008 - 5:29 PM WEST LONG BRANCH, New Jersey (Ticker) -- Monmouth named Stephanie Gaitley its new women's basketball coach, the school announced Monday.

Gaitley will be officially announced during a press conference at Wilson Hall on Tuesday.

Becoming the sixth coach in the school's history as a Division I program, Gaitley joins the Hawks from Long Island University, where she compiled a 95-82 record in six seasons.

The Northeast Conference's Coach of the Year in 2007, Gaitley guided Long Island to a school-record 24 wins and a top seed in the NEC postseason tournament this past season.

Also coaching at Saint Joseph's and Richmond, Gaitley has a career record of 407-233 in 22 seasons with seven NCAA Tournament berths and four conference titles.
