Vandy RT Williams breaks ankle vs. LSU
Sep 13, 2009 - 1:50 AM BATON ROUGE, La.(AP) -- Vanderbilt offensive lineman James Williams broke his left ankle during the third quarter of the Commodores' game at LSU on Saturday night.The 6-foot-6, 310-pound right tackle got tangled up in a pile of players near the line of scrimmage and was unable to get up. The game was delayed about five minutes while medical staff immobilized his lower left leg and used a stretcher to lift him onto a cart.
Williams, a sophomore, is a first-year starter. He was replaced by freshman Caleb Welchans.
