Northwest Missouri State wins 56-31
Dec 6, 2009 - 5:46 AM MARYVILLE, Mo.(AP) -- Quarterback Blake Bolles threw three touchdown passes to Jake Soy, and two special teams scores gave Northwest Missouri State the boost it needed Saturday night in a 56-31 victory against California University of Pennsylvania in an NCAA Division II semifinal.The victory puts the Bearcats (13-1, 9-0) in its fifth straight National Championship game, where it will play Grand Valley State next Saturday.
Soy caught touchdown passes of 6, 4 and 23 yards to move into third place in NCAA records for touchdown receptions in a single season with 26. LaRon Council rushed for a season-high 215 yards on 20 carries and scored on a 5-yard run.
Vulcan's (11-4, 7-0) quarterback Josh Portis threw for a career-high 367 yards and three touchdowns, including a 64-yard touchdown strike to Terrance Moore, who finished with a game-high 128 yards.
