Pace football team honors slain teammate at game

Oct 30, 2010 - 10:05 PM PLEASANTVILLE, N.Y. (AP) -- The Pace University football team honored slain teammate Danroy Henry at its first game since the 20-year-old student was shot by police in New York.

A bag piper led the team onto the field Saturday in Pleasantville, N.Y. before their game against the University of New Haven. Players also wore black wristbands with Henry's number 12 embroidered on them and released white balloons at the end of the game, which Pace lost 58-19.

The Massachusetts student was killed when two officers fired at his moving car while responding to a disturbance in Thornwood. Police and witness accounts differ. A lawyer for the victim's family has called for the U.S. Department of Justice to investigate.

On Friday, Henry's family held a memorial service in Boston.
