Allen out as Missouri State football coach
Nov 23, 2014 - 9:28 PM Springfield, MO (SportsNetwork.com) - Missouri State said Sunday it will not bring back football coach Terry Allen after nine seasons.Allen's contract expired after Saturday's regular-season finale at Northern Iowa. Missouri State had a 4-8 record this season - after a 3-1 start - and was 37-64 under Allen.
He told reporters after the UNI game that he had coached his final game at Missouri State. Athletic director Kyle Moats made that official Sunday at a news conference.
Allen has a 132-123 career record in 22 overall seasons. He had been a big winner previously in the Missouri Valley Football Conference at UNI, going 75-26 in eight seasons from 1989-1996. He also was 20-33 in five seasons at Kansas from 1997-2001.
