Savannah State names Raeburn as coach
Mar 28, 2016 - 11:47 PM (STATS) - Savannah State named former Wabash College coach Erik Raeburn as its new coach Monday.Raeburn went 78-13 in his eight seasons at Wabash, in Crawfordsville, Indiana, earning five berths in the Division III playoffs. He was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Coach of the Year in 2011, and his 2015 team went 12-1 and advanced to the quarterfinals.
The 44-year-old, who played at Mount Union from 1989-92, was the head coach at Coe College, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, from 2000-07 before going to Wabash.
Raeburn replaces Earnest Wilson III, who resigned in February to become the coach at Elizabeth City State. He was 2-32 over three seasons at Savannah State, which has won more than two games in a season only once since the school moved to the FCS level in 2000.
