Fordham set for Breiner's first season

Apr 4, 2016 - 9:30 PM (STATS) - Fordham has some games that stand out on its 2016 schedule, but the Rams' focus is to win the Patriot League title in coach Andrew Breiner's first season.

The Rams kick off the Breiner era with a visit to Navy on Sept. 3. They'll also play the annual Ram-Crusader Cup game against Holy Cross at Yankee Stadium on Nov. 12.

Fordham, which is 32-8 over the last three seasons, will play six home games: Elizabeth City State (Sept. 10), Penn (Sept. 24, Homecoming) and Yale (Oct. 15) out of conference and Patriot League opponents Lafayette (Oct. 8), Georgetown (Oct. 22) and Colgate (Nov. 5).

The Rams also will play road games against Monmouth (Oct. 1) and Patriot opponents Lehigh (Oct. 29) and Bucknell (Nov. 19).

Breiner served the last four years as Fordham's offensive coordinator under Joe Moorhead, who left to become Penn State's offensive coordinator. The Rams have qualified for the last three FCS playoffs.
