Eastern Illinois, Indiana State to renew series

Apr 6, 2016 - 8:17 PM (STATS) - Eastern Illinois and Indiana State have agreed to resume their 115-year-old rivalry with a four-year home-and-home series beginning next year.

Indiana State will host games on Sept. 2, 2017 and Sept. 7, 2019. Eastern Illinois will host meetings on Sept. 1, 2018 and Sept. 12, 2020.

The two schools are located just 50 miles apart, EIU in Charleston and Indiana State in Terre Haute. They last met in 2009 when EIU posted a 31-0 road win to extend its series lead to 43-37-4.

The series dates to 1901.
