Coprich to chase NFL dream with Vikings

May 1, 2016 - 6:09 PM (STATS) - Marshaun Coprich runs the football hard enough.

Now he has a chip on his shoulder for extra motivation.

Disappointed about going undrafted, he sorted through different offers before deciding Sunday to pursue his NFL dream with Minnesota.

The two-time FCS All-American and Missouri Valley Football Conference offensive player of the year led the nation in rushing yards in 2014 and was second last year. He totaled 5,195 rushing yards and 60 touchdowns in 52 games with the Redbirds, who shared each of the last two MVFC titles with five-time reigning national champion North Dakota State.

Lacking the ideal size of an NFL running back at 5-foot-8½, 207 pounds, the player nicknamed "Young Bull" is considered a potential change-of-pace back. He has the ability to catch the ball out of the backfield.
