Kevin Duke leads Sacred Heart to 42-3 win over Stetson

(AP) — Kevin Duke ran for a career-high three touchdowns and threw for another as Sacred Heart opened the season with 42-3 thumping of Stetson on Saturday night. Duke completed 13 of 16 passes for 155 yards and ran for a career-best 81 yards on 12 carries. He garnered all his scores in the first half as he was 12-of-13 passing for 135 yards in the first two periods. Shea Olayos took over to start the final quarter. Duke took the controls for the 2017 season after RJ Noel finished his career last year, holding the SHU record for career passing yards with 9,016. Imamu Mayfield rushed for 93 yards with one touchdown and Ose Imeokparia ran for 59 yards and a score as the Pioneers amassed 456 total yards while limiting Stetson to 145. The Pioneers held Stetson to 18 yards rushing. Colin McGovern threw for 127 yards for Stetson.No one has shouted yet.
