Florida State moves kickoff against ULM to noon

Sep 6, 2017 - 2:57 PM Florida State moved the kickoff time of Saturday's game in Tallahassee, Fla., against Louisiana-Monroe to noon ET due to Hurricane Irma.

The game had been scheduled to kick off at Doak Campbell Stadium at 7 p.m.

"We have moved the game time after consulting with a number of state agencies and based on the information we have on the potential impact on the state," FSU president John Thrasher said in a statement Wednesday. "The earlier start will give ULM the opportunity to travel safely after the game, and provide many of our fans a chance to come to the game and return home in time to make any necessary preparations."

The university said it will continue to monitor the progress of Hurricane Irma, the most powerful Atlantic Ocean hurricane in recorded history. Irma made its first landfall in the Caribbean early Wednesday as a Category 5 storm.

Florida State fell to No. 10 in the Associated Press college football poll after dropping its opener to Alabama and losing quarterback Deondre Francois to a season-ending knee injury.
