Florida A&M picks Simmons as head coach
Dec 11, 2017 - 6:45 PM Florida A&M has tabbed Willie Simmons to be the next head coach of its football team, multiple outlets reported on Monday.Simmons has served as the head coach at Prairie View A&M for the last three seasons. The 37-year-old native of Tallahassee, Fla., posted a 21-11 mark during that span, with a 6-5 record this past season.
Prairie View A&M released an official statement on Saturday declaring that Simmons had left the program.
Simmons will replace Alex Wood, who resigned on Nov. 25 after going 8-25 in the previous three seasons. The Rattlers recorded a 3-8 mark this season and were 2-6 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.
