Devils ink three to AHL deals
Aug 10, 2007 - 10:13 PM NEWARK, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Devils added to their organization Friday, when they signed goaltender Dave Caruso and left wings Mark Pandolfo and Jason Paige to American Hockey League contracts.Terms were not disclosed.
A product of Ohio State, Caruso played the majority of last season with the Gwinnett Gladiators of the ECHL, posting a 23-11-4 record with one shutout and a 3.13 goals-against average. The 25-year-old Georgia native was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Atlanta Thrashers in July 2006.
Pandolfo, 24, returns to the Lowell Devils after spending the 2006-07 season with the Trenton Titans of the ECHL, where he recorded 19 goals and 15 assists in 65 games. The 6-foot, 195-pounder, who spent four seasons at the University of Massachusetts-Lowell, is the cousin of New Jersey's Jay Pandolfo and Lowell's Mike Pandolfo.
The 23-year-old Paige completed his senior year at Notre Dame last season, registering 11 goals and 11 assists in 42 games. A native of Michigan, Paige collected 29 tallies and 50 points in 154 contests overall with the Fighting Irish.
