Blues send G Toivonen to Peoria for conditioning
Oct 18, 2007 - 10:38 PM ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- The St. Louis Blues apparently believe Hannu Toivonen needs more action, assigning the goaltender to Peoria of the American Hockey League for conditioning on Thursday.Acquired from Boston over the summer, Toivonen has appeared in just one game with St. Louis this season, relieving starter Manny Legace on October 6 and allowing one goal on eight shots in notching the victory over Los Angeles.
The 23-year-old Toivonen is expected to dress for the Rivermen in their meeting with the Quad City Flames on Friday.
Drafted 29th overall by Boston in 2002, the Finn owns a career record of 13-14-5 with one shutout and a 3.31 goals-against average in 39 games with the Bruins and Blues.
