Coyotes send D Meyer to minors
Oct 24, 2007 - 12:24 AM GLENDALE, Arizona (Ticker) -- The Phoenix Coyotes apparently have not been impressed by Freddy Meyer. After failing to record a point in five games this season, Meyer on Tuesday was assigned to San Antonio of the American Hockey League by the Coyotes.
Claimed off waivers from the New York Islanders on October 8, the 26-year-old defenseman has posted a minus-4 rating in the five contests with Phoenix. Last season, Meyer notched just two goals and six assists in 60 games with Philadelphia and New York after registering career highs of six tallies and 27 points in 57 contests with the Flyers in 2005-06.
Undrafted out of Boston University, Meyer made his NHL debut with Philadelphia in 2003-04, appearing in one game.
