Canadiens acquire RW Engelhart
Feb 9, 2008 - 3:50 AM MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens completed a minor trade Friday, sending center Francis Lemieux to the Detroit Red Wings for right wing Brett Engelhardt.The 27-year-old Engelhardt was assigned to Hamilton of the American Hockey League.
Still waiting to make his NHL debut, Engelhardt appeared in 42 games with Grand Rapids of the AHL this season, recording eight goals and eight assists. The native of Wisconsin spent four campaigns at Michigan Tech before joining the AHL's Philadelphia Phantoms at the end of 2003-04.
Lemieux, 23, registered six assists and 27 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Bulldogs this season. He signed with the Canadiens as an undrafted free agent in December 2005.
