Ducks send RW Ryan to minors
Apr 18, 2008 - 11:52 PM ANAHEIM, California (Ticker) -- Clinging to their playoff lives, the Anaheim Ducks on Friday assigned right wing Bobby Ryan to Portland of the American Hockey League.Drafted second overall in 2005, Ryan made his NHL debut during the regular season, recording five goals and five assists in 23 games. The 21-year-old native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey also notched 21 tallies and 49 points in 48 contests with the Pirates.
Ryan appeared in the first two games of Anaheim's Western Conference quarterfinal series against the Dallas Stars, failing to register a point.
The defending Stanley Cup champion Ducks, who trail in the series three games to one, look to stay alive when they host the Stars on Friday night.
