Braun grabs pole for Mexico 200

Apr 19, 2008 - 5:46 PM MEXICO CITY (Ticker) -- Colin Braun will start on the pole for Sunday's Mexico 200.

Making just his third career start in the Nationwide Series, Braun secured his place on the front row during Saturday's qualifying with a top lap of 102.756 miles per hour in a Ford.

The 19-year-old Braun finished 15th at the Pepsi 300 in his only other start this year. He was 30th at the Sam Town's 250 last year.

Joining Braun along the front row will be Scott Pruett, who turned in a lap of 102.651 mph in a Dodge.

The Ford's of Carl Edwards and Marcos Ambrose will occupy the second row.

Series points leader Jeff Burton is not competing in this road race.
