Knights lock up Saifiti twins until 2020
Oct 23, 2017 - 5:37 AM Newcastle have moved to lock up two of their best young NRL talents for the long-term, re-signing twin brothers Daniel and Jacob Saifiti until the end of 2020.The two forwards were both off contract at the end of next season, meaning the 21-year-olds would have been available to the open market at the beginning of next month.
However their signatures ensure they will remain at the club they debuted at in the opening round of 2016.
"The club has shown faith in us and hopefully we can repay that," Daniel said.
"We have been here for two years and I can't imagine being anywhere else."
The pair are seen as two of the brightest up and coming stars at the Knights. Daniel was this year named the club's players' player, while only shoulder surgery stopped him joining Jacob in representing Fiji at this year's Rugby League World Cup.
"I'm excited to play with a lot of new signings next season who can bring that experience that we need," Jacob said.
"We have a strong side on paper and hopefully we'll have a good couple of years ahead of us."
