Bulls down Jaguares in Super Rugby

Apr 15, 2017 - 10:21 PM Five-eighth Handre Pollard kicked the Bulls to a 26-13 win over the Jaguares at Loftus Versfeld, ending a three-game losing streak for the South African Super Rugby team.

Springbok Pollard booted 16 points, including four penalties, in the two-tries-to-one victory.

"We desperately needed a win after a disappointing tour to New Zealand and Japan," said Bulls hooker Adriaan Strauss.

"This result will bring some joy back to the team, even if we did not perform at our best.

"I was happy to see more width in our play, but we need to get over the advantage line more often and retain possession for longer periods."

Tries from winger Travis Ismaiel and lock Lood de Jager saw the Bulls claim victory over the Buenos Aires-based side who had more possession and territory, but could not make that count on the scoreboard.

The visitors' only try was scored by scrumhalf Gonzalo Bertranou as they slipped to a third defeat of the season from their seven matches.
