Springboks add Louw for injured Oosthuizen
Sep 10, 2017 - 1:45 AM Uncapped prop Wilco Louw is being added to South Africa's rugby squad as a replacement for Coenie Oosthuizen, who broke his arm in Saturday's 23-23 draw with the Wallabies.Oosthuizen sustained the injury in the second half of the thrilling draw in Perth and will return to South Africa to see a specialist in Durban.
The 23-year-old Louw, who weighs 130kg, will join the Springboks in Auckland on Monday ahead of their Test against the All Blacks next weekend.
The Stormers prop joins a South Africa side currently second in the Rugby Championship standings and although coach Allister Coetzee wasn't happy to split the points with Australia, he is pleased with the team's form.
"The Springboks will never be happy with a draw," Coetzee said in Perth.
"I am however satisfied with the overall performance, because the team showed great character in their fightback. We had three line-breaks and no reward in the last couple of minutes.
"We also continue to scrum well and our lineout also functioned well plus we saw a massive improvement in our mauling tonight."
