Italy duo set to miss Germany Euro quarter
Jul 1, 2016 - 11:06 AM Italy duo Daniele De Rossi and Antonio Candreva look almost certain to miss Saturday's Euro 2016 quarter-final with Germany after being absent again from training because of injury.Italy held a final session at their Montpellier base before heading to Bordeaux to prepare for the game but neither hard-tackling midfielder De Rossi nor utility man Candreva took part.
De Rossi suffered a thigh injury in the last-16 win over holders Spain while Candreva has not featured since the group stage due to an adductor problem.
The absence of the experienced De Rossi will be especially problematic for Italy coach Antonio Conte with possible replacement Thiago Motta suspended.
Stefano Sturaro is the most likely to come into the side with no other changes expected from the 11 who started the Spain game.
