Vela goes out in style for Real Sociedad

Dec 20, 2017 - 11:01 PM Carlos Vela scored in his last appearance for Real Sociedad as they beat Sevilla 3-1 in La Liga.

It was the Mexican forward's 73rd goal in his 250th, and last, match before he leaves the club to join Los Angeles FC in January.

Inigo Martinez headed Real Sociedad into the lead on 17 minutes.

But Sevilla levelled through Wissam Ben Yedder just before half time.

Igor Zubeldia scored Real Sociedad's second on 76 minutes after coming on as a substitute only a minute earlier.

And when Martinez crossed from the left on 90 minutes Vela converted for a fairytale end to his time at the club.

The result leaves Real Sociedad eighth on the same points as Getafe who earlier won 2-0 at home to Las Palmas with two goals in the first quarter hour.

Juan Cala headed in a corner after five minutes and Amath Ndiaye made it two on 14 minutes to leave Las Palmas rooted to the foot of the table in their last game before new coach Paco Jemez takes over in the New Year.
