Adere to run Chicago Marathon
Oct 2, 2008 - 5:21 PM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Defending champion Berhane Adere will chase a third successive victory at the Chicago Marathon on October 12.The Ethiopian was added to the field on Thursday along with Kenya's Daniel Njenga, who after six top-three finishes in Chicago, is the favorite to win the men's title.
Newly crowned Olympic champion Constantina Tomescu has also confirmed her participation, while her fellow Romanian Adriana Pirtea, who was overtaken by Adere almost on the finishing line on her debut last year, also is returning.
