McBride nets 30 as Stars top Liberty
Jul 10, 2014 - 2:14 AM San Antonio, TX (SportsNetwork.com) - Kayla McBride matched a career-high with 30 points to lead the way in the San Antonio Stars' 80-66 victory over the New York Liberty Wednesday at AT&T Center.McBride finished 12-of-20 from the field and racked up half of her scoring total during a dominant first quarter that carried the Stars to a fourth win in five games.
San Antonio outscored the Liberty by a 28-15 margin during the opening period and never trailed at any stage, building a lead as high as 23 points early in the fourth quarter.
Danielle Adams added 16 points for the Stars and Danielle Robinson finished with 13 in the win.
New York, which entered the matchup on a season-best three-game win streak, received 21 points off the bench from Sugar Rodgers and 17 out of Cappie Pondexter.
