Crossley nets career high as Silver Stars clinch playoff spot

Aug 5, 2007 - 2:23 AM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- Shanna Crossley scored a career-high 26 points to help the San Antonio Silver Stars clinch a playoff spot with an 86-67 victory over the Los Angeles Sparks on Saturday.

Sophia Young added 22 points for San Antonio, which snapped a three-game home losing streak.

Christi Thomas scored 15 points for Los Angeles, which has lost 12 of its last 14 games.

The Sparks got as close as 47-42 with 8:59 left in the third, but the Silver Stars went on a 13-5 run, which was capped by a 3-pointer from Crossley and four free throws by Young.

San Antonio hit 26-of-32 from the free-throw line and scored 18 points off of 15 Los Angeles turnovers.
