Maya Moore scores 40, leads Lynx past Mercury 72-71

Sep 27, 2015 - 9:41 PM PHOENIX (AP) Maya Moore stole an inbounds pass with two seconds left, was fouled and made a free throw to cap her 40-point performance as the Minnesota Lynx defeated the Phoenix Mercury 72-71 Sunday in Game 2 of the WNBA Western Conference Finals.

The Lynx advanced to the WNBA Finals for the fourth time in five seasons. They'll play the winner of the game between the New York Liberty and Indiana Fever in Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Tied at 71-71 with 5.4 seconds, Phoenix tried to inbound the ball but Moore stole it from Noelle Quinn, who was called for a foul. Moore made one of two free throws and the Lynx rebounded the miss as time ran out.

Candice Dupree had 16 points and Brittney Griner added 15 for the defending champion Mercury.
