Sparks acquire Riquna Williams from Wings for Phillips
Mar 2, 2016 - 12:47 AM LOS ANGELES (AP) The Sparks acquired Riquna Williams and the sixth pick in the WNBA Draft from the Dallas Wings for guard Erin Phillips and the fifth pick in the draft on Tuesday.Los Angeles also received the Wings' first-round pick in 2017.
Williams averaged 13 points and 1.4 steals in 100 games for the Wings while the team was in Tulsa. She was an injury replacement in the All-Star Game last year.
She set the WNBA's single-game scoring record with 51 points vs. San Antonio on September 8, 2013.
Phillips played 12 games for Los Angeles last season, averaging 6.8 points, 3.0 rebounds and 3.1 assists.
The eight-year veteran has played with Connecticut, Indiana, Phoenix and Los Angeles.
