Gordon, Dodgers take care of D-backs

Sep 7, 2014 - 4:58 AM Los Angeles, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Dee Gordon's RBI single highlighted a three-run eighth inning as the Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Arizona Diamondbacks, 5-2, in the second of three from Dodger Stadium.

Juan Uribe singled to begin the eighth off Daniel Hudson (0-1). Following a flyout from Joc Pederson, pinch-hitter Justin Turner reached on a fielder's choice to third.

Turner hit a routine double-play ball to Aaron Hill, who fired to second, but pinch-runner Roger Bernadina raced to the bag and slid in safely.

Andre Ethier then flied out before Gordon worked a nine-pitch at-bat which ended with a single up the middle that scored Bernadina.

"I'm just trying to do my job," said Gordon. "I had a nine-pitch at-bat in a big situation. I'm just happy to help my team."

Hanley Ramirez followed with a ground-rule double to left that plated a pair for final margin.

Brian Wilson (2-3) grabbed the win for pitching a scoreless eighth and Kenley Jansen converted his 41st save in the ninth.

Los Angeles leads San Francisco by two games in the NL West.

Hyun-Jin Ryu hurled 6 2/3 innings of two-run ball, allowing seven hits and striking out nine in the no-decision.

Arizona starter Chase Anderson surrendered two runs on four hits and struck out six.

Adrian Gonzalez got Los Angeles on the board in the first with a two-run shot to right that plated Gordon.

"I threw a bad pitch to Adrian in the first, but after that I was able to attack and get early outs," said Anderson.

Arizona then loaded the bases with no outs in the second, but Nolan Reimold struck out looking, Tuffy Gosewisch lined out to left and Chase Anderson struck out to end the inning.

The Diamondbacks finally broke through off Ryu in the seventh, when Hill opened the inning with a single and scored on Cody Ross' double to left. Ryu looked as if he were to work his way out of trouble, getting the next two batters out before a pinch-hitting A.J. Pollock laced an RBI single into left that tied the game at 2-2.
