Marlins top Giants

May 10, 2015 - 6:14 AM San Francisco, CA (SportsNetwork.com) - Donovan Solano and Adeiny Hechavarria each drove in two runs, and David Phelps pitched six strong innings in Miami's 6-2 victory over the San Francisco Giants.

Marcell Ozuna homered for the Marlins, who bounced back from a 6-0 loss Friday in the second portion of this four-game series.

Phelps (2-0), making his fifth start for the Marlins in place of Henderson Alvarez, gave up one run on six hits and fanned three.

"The shut down innings were huge," Marlins manager Mike Redmond said. "He mixed his pitches in and out."

Brandon Crawford had an RBI single and Joe Panik a run-scoring double for the Giants, who lost for the third time in four games.

Madison Bumgarner (3-2) had 10 strikeouts, but allowed five hits and three runs in five innings.

"He missed his spot a few times and they took advantage of it," Giants manager Bruce Bochy said. "He made three or four mistakes there and they didn't miss them."

Ozuna homered to left-center leading off the visiting fourth. After J.T. Realmuto walked, Jeff Baker lined an RBI double down the left-field line. Two batters later, Hechavarria doubled to right for a 3-0 lead.

Crawford singled in Justin Maxwell in the fifth, but the Giants failed to produce with two men on base later in the inning and again in the seventh and eighth frames.

Miami tacked on three runs in the eighth. Solano's double to right on an 0-2 count scored Giancarlo Stanton and Ozuna. Hechavarria's infield hit scored Solano.

Panik's double to left scored Matt Duffy in the ninth.
