Dodgers hope to get untracked vs. D-backs

Jun 8, 2015 - 2:35 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have been struggling and will try to put a rough weekend behind them in Monday's opener of a three-game series versus the Arizona Diamondbacks.

The Dodgers lost three of four games versus the St. Louis Cardinals and dropped a 4-2 decision Sunday night. The Cardinals plated three runs in the eighth inning to keep the Dodgers at arms length and Juan Nicasio was dealt the loss in relief.

"Juan has been throwing the ball well for us, but tonight was one of those nights," Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said.

Zack Greinke started for L.A. and pitched 6 2/3 strong innings, allowing one run and six hits with eight strikeouts and one walk.

Justin Turner had two hits and two RBI, while Yasiel Puig ended 2-for-4 with a run scored for the Dodgers, losers in eight of the last 12 games. The Dodgers are still just a half-game ahead of San Francisco for the NL West lead.

Mike Bolsinger draws the start for Los Angeles on Monday and he is 3-1 with a 1.98 earned run average in six starts. He is 0-1 in his last two starts and did not figure into the outcome of Wednesday's 7-6 loss at Colorado, touched for four runs in five innings.

Bolsinger has won all three of his home starts this season and former Diamondback will face Arizona for the first time. Bolsinger went 1-6 with a 5.50 ERA in 10 games (9 starts) with the D-backs last season.

Arizona will play its next eight games on the road and split a four-game series with the New York Mets this weekend. The Diamondbacks dropped a 6-3 verdict on Sunday, as Josh Collmenter surrendered five runs in seven innings to absorb the loss.

"If he's up and out over the plate, they hit him," said Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale. "He just has to have good location or big league players are going to hurt you."

The Mets banged out 11 hits and Jacob deGrom was solid through seven innings, allowing three runs (2 earned) with 10 K's.

Paul Goldschmidt, David Peralta and Chris Owings had an RBI apiece for the D- backs, who had won four of five and six of their previous nine games.

Rubby De La Rosa gets the nod for Hale's club Monday and is 4-2 with a 5.09 ERA in 11 starts. He has posted four straight no-decisions after winning consecutive starts, and was reached for seven runs and nine hits across five innings of a 9-8 win over Atlanta on Wednesday.

De La Rosa has given up 15 runs in his last three starts and faced the Dodgers for the first time in an 8-0 road loss on May 1, when he gave up five runs in five innings. He is 1-2 in five road starts this season.

Los Angeles is 4-2 against Arizona this season.
