The Knicks have lost three in a row and will wrap up a three-game road trip before returning home for four straight games.
New York sustained a 110-99 loss in Brooklyn Friday night in the battle of the Big Apple, as Carmelo Anthony scored 19 points on just 5-of-20 shooting and Tim Hardaway Jr. ended with 16 points.
Amare Stoudemire netted 14 points and grabbed seven rebounds for the Knicks, who shot 41.1 percent and made 8-of-19 3-pointers. The Knicks have yet to reach 100 points in a game this season.
"Hats off to them, they did a great job breaking down our defense. Gotta give them credit," Hardaway Jr. said.
Meanwhile, the Hawks will visit New York Monday to close out the home-and-home set and dropped their second straight game Friday at Charlotte.
Lance Stephenson banked in a 3-pointer as time expired in the second overtime, leading the Hornets to a 122-119 triumph. Al Horford paced the visitors with 24 points and 10 rebounds, while Jeff Teague ended with 22 points and 15 assists. Kyle Korver was 4-of-7 from 3-point range en route to 20 points.
"Our team keeps showing fight," said Horford. "Our guys just keep fighting until the last second."
Paul Millsap and DeMarre Carroll each had 13 points for Atlanta, which made 46.2 percent of its shots and was outrebounded 51-38. Charlotte scored 27 points off 19 Atlanta turnovers and had 58 points in the paint.
The Hawks entered the game averaging 31.0 points in the fourth quarter and were limited to 19 points in the period Friday night. They ended with 28 assists and have handed out at least 26 in all four games.
