Moore spent the past 15 seasons as the head coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. He led the Mocs to 12 Southern Conference regular season titles and nine SoCon tournament titles. He's the winningest coach in UTC and SoCon history.

Moore replaces Kellie Harper, who was ousted after four seasons as the Wolfpack's head coach. Harper, the successor to Yow, led the Wolfpack to the NCAA Tournament in her first year and posted an overall record of 70-64, including a 23-39 mark in ACC play.
