Trailing by two goals, the Hurricanes got their first one at 2:34 of the second period on Skinner's fourth of the year.
Just 4 1/2 minutes later, Carolina tied the game as Dwyer skated up the middle and lifted a backhand past Lehtonen.
It was a 3-2 game in Carolina's favor at 8:30 of the second as Rask's one- timer from the right circle sailed into the far side for a power-play marker.
Carolina kept pouring it on for a 4-2 lead when Elias Lindholm let fly with a shot from the right boards that Tlusty redirected in while parked in front of Lehtonen to the right of the net for his eighth of the season.
