OTTAWA (Ticker) - The Tampa Bay Lightning have not had much to celebrate lately.
The Lightning will look to snap a six-game losing streak when they visit the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.
Tampa Bay also has lost nine of its previous 11 contests on the road. Not surprisingly, the Lightning own an NHL-worst 3-14-2 mark away from home and have sunk to the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings.
"It's frustrating. It's not just the six in a row, it started before that," Tampa Bay center Vincent Lecavalier said. "It's tough, it's tough on everybody. The morale is down after a game like tonight. You come back, you think you're going to win, and you lose."
Lecavalier did score a goal and set up another Thursday but the Lightning yielded three unanswered goals in the third period and suffered a 6-3 setback to the Montreal Canadiens.
Despite the club's struggles, the 27-year-old Lecavalier has a team-leading 27 goals and leads the NHL with 60 points.
The Senators may hold the conference's best record but they are beginning to have problems in the crease.
After two disappointing starts by Martin Gerber, Ray Emery relinquished a three-goal lead Friday before Dany Heatley and Daniel Alfredsson added late tallies to lift Ottawa to a 5-3 triumph over the Buffalo Sabres.
In the teams last meeting, Tampa Bay record a 4-3 shootout victory on December 4, but the Senators have posted a 10-3-1 record since then.
