Rampage fire coach McEwen
Jun 25, 2007 - 2:36 PM GRAND RAPIDS, Michigan (Ticker) - The Grand Rapids Rampage on Monday fired coach Sparky McEwen.McEwen, who compiled a 13-35 record in three seasons, guided the Rampage to a 4-12 record in 2007
"Sparky McEwen is a terrific human being who cares deeply about his players, the organization and the community," Grand Rapids general manager Scott Woodruff said. "I will always be grateful for the contributions he has made to the Rampage as a player, an assistant coach and a head coach.
"The decision not to retain Sparky was based solely on his team's win-loss record over the past three seasons."
