Wimprine, turnovers doom Storm
Mar 17, 2008 - 1:17 AM NEW ORLEANS (Ticker) -- Danny Wimprine threw seven touchdown passes to lead the New Orleans VooDoo to a 76-55 victory over the Tampa Bay Storm on Sunday.Wimprine was 18-of-35 for 222 yards while James Jordan had seven catches for 114 yards and four touchdowns for the Voodoo (2-1), who took advantage of eight Tampa Bay turnovers and outscored the Storm, 34-0, in the second quarter.
During the pivotal quarter, New Orleans' Lin-J Shell returned an interception 35 yards for a score, Lauvale Sape scored on a net recovery and Wendall Williams returned a missed field goal 57 yards for a score as time expired to give the VooDoo a 48-14 lead at halftime.
Tampa Bay's Brett Dietz was 27-of-44 for 328 yards and five touchdowns with two interceptions for Tampa Bay (2-1).
