Port's White hamstrung for a month
Jun 17, 2015 - 8:04 AM Port Adelaide speedster Matt White will spend up to six weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring tear.White suffered the injury in the Power's 23-point loss to Geelong last Friday and was subbed out of the game.
Scans later revealed he had sustained between a grade two and three tear, with the club set to take a `zero risk' approach to his recovery given his previous troubles with hamstring injuries.
"He won't start back running for a couple of weeks just to let it heal and then we'll just build up strength from there," performance manager Darren Burgess told the club's website on Wednesday.
"He's had a bit of a history with hamstrings so we'll be taking a particularly cautious approach with him."
White's injury is a significant blow to the Power's running stocks with fellow speedster Jared Polec still at least five weeks away from resuming from a foot injury.
Port will be without Paddy Ryder (Achilles) when they take on Carlton on Saturday, but Jackson Trengove is a chance to return from an ankle injury.
