Bombers star Merrett signs new AFL deal
Sep 26, 2016 - 4:49 AM Essendon have signed Zach Merrett until the end of 2021, locking away the gun 20-year-old who carried the Bombers through one of its most difficult AFL seasons.The 2016 best-and-fairest winner, who has quickly become one of the Bombers' most important players since debuting in 2014, has signed a three-year contract extension.
"It's exciting to see Zach commit to the club long term, he is an important part of our future and we look forward to watching him grow as player and leader," coach John Worsfold said on Monday.
