North set to extend coach Scott: reports
Aug 28, 2017 - 12:00 PM North Melbourne are close to signing coach Brad Scott to a two-year contract extension, according to media reports on Monday night.Scott has been strongly linked with the Gold Coast senior coaching role following the sacking of Rodney Eade and was, at one stage, the bookmakers' hot favourite to take the job.
But he has repeatedly pledged his loyalty to North in the face of that speculation.
Scott is contracted for next season with the reported extension to tie him to the club until the end of the 2020 season, which would be his 11th year in charge.
The Kangaroos endured a difficult premiership campaign this year and would have finished bottom if not for their big win over Brisbane at the Gabba in round 23.
The 51-point win over the Lions saw them close out the season in 15th spot, which is their lowest finish in eight years under Scott.
